Further information for new starters in September 2024

The arrangements for the admission of children to our school at age 4+ are made by East Sussex County Council.  A detailed description of the arrangements is contained in the booklet ‘Admission to Primary Schools’

The admissions criteria for community and voluntary controlled schools are as follows:
Priority 1. Looked after children.
Priority 2. Children with an exceptional medical or social need for whom attendance at any other school would be inappropriate.
Priority 3. Children who will have a brother or sister at the school (or a linked infant or junior school) at the time of admission.
Priority 4. Children wishing to transfer between a linked infant and junior school.
Priority 5. Children living within a pre-defined community area.
Priority 6. Children living outside the pre-defined community area.
Tie breaker
If there are more children who qualify under an oversubscription criterion than places available, place allocation will be determined by prioritising applications within that criterion, on the basis of the shortest route from home to school using surfaced, passable route.
