We are courageous advocates for the common good, locally, nationally and globally. We recognise that life is full of ups and downs and that at times all people will face challenges that they need help and support in overcoming. We believe that people are worth spending time with, that people need time to grow and need loving attention. The Christian Gospel says that every person has a unique task to do, with God, and for God, whether they know it or not. We hold and courageously advocate the conviction that there is something mysterious, and potentially wonderful, in everybody.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

One Letter Makes a Difference<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Following this beautiful, thought provoking letter from a Year 1 child, we made a new committment to protect the environment over the Christmas period. We did this by:<\/p>

  • Using Recycled, paper Christmas Crackers. These crackers did not contain plastic inserts and some of the cost of the crackers went to charity.<\/li>
  • During our Christmas wrapping activity, we used recycled brown paper rather than Christmas paper.<\/li><\/ul>

    We are planning on developing this in a community litter pick and recycling event in Term 4 2020.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Supporting the Hastings Foodbank<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    We have been extremely proud to support the Hastings Foodbank during the 2019 festive period.<\/p>

    We have raised awareness of the importance of the Foodbank through the design and instalation of Christmas windows at Ruston Interiors; from our sponsored walk where we raised \u00a3600 for this charity. We also collected tins and non perishable items as part of a house group competition.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Wellbeing Walk for World Mental Health Day<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    Mr Page arranged a wonderful walk to support the whole school\u2019s learning on PHSE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic education) and mental wellbeing.<\/p>

    Over 150 pupils, parents, grandparents and staff walked through the fields and woods around Stonegate and took the opportunity to enjoy friendships, discuss concerns and take a break from their daily pressures and stresses.<\/p>

    This event was a resounding success!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Supporting Our Community<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    The school is also working with Andrew Wright to support parents and children from the Uplands Cluster in Mental Wellbeing through a series of 4 Neuro Ninja Workshops. These sessions have been attended by 50 people on each occassion.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    Disability in Sport Awareness Day<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    We were ever so fortunate to have the \u2018Disability in Sport\u2019 team from Brighton and Hove Albion visit the school to raise our awareness of the Paralympics and sports which have been adapted to meet the needs of all.<\/p>

    During the day, every child had the opportunity to experience Wheelchair Basketball, Boccia and Goalball.<\/p>

    This was truly inspirational and the sensitivity and enthusiasm shown by every child was commendable.<\/p>

    Thank the PTA for financially supporting these events and their unwavering commitment to support the school\u2019s wider curriculum.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
